Unquestionably, WIX is free for as long as you want. 

It provides hundreds of free high-quality templates and thousands of free images/videos/icons for any kind of purpose whatever your topic of website is.

 

If you are a blogger like me or you'd like to present a unique personal CV on website, I think it's not a big deal as there is nobody cares if you're using a free website or not, after all, the contents of your website is the key of value.  But, don't expect that there will be someone to buy a product from an online store or do a million business with a company who can't even afford a paid website. 

 

To present a professional own domain name instead of WIX's or remove the WIX ad (like the ad banner on top of my blog) you'd have to choose from one of their premium plans.
